Look For Quality When Choosing New Computer Peripherals

Todd Winslow
From the first piece of equipment to carry the Hewlett-Packard name rolled out of their garage, the company established a goal of producing products that met strict quality control standards. If an item did not meet their expectations, it was revisited and reworked until it was made to last without problems to the end user.

The same holds true today, over 70 years after that first audio oscillator was produced. Despite the greatly expanded product lines that have grown from that first endeavor, it has been the unparalleled quest for perfection that has helped the company continue to grow into one of the world’s leaders in electronic merchandise.

The company’s entry into the computing field was made in 1968 when it introduced the first desktop calculator for math and engineering functions. It was termed a personal computer in advertisements, marking the first time the term was used. In 1970 the company moved into the data transfer field with the HP 3000 for distributed data processing. The first dynamic random access memory chips were introduced in 1974, along with the first programmable pocket calculator.

Through the years, research and development continued the process begun by the company’s founders in developing new, innovative products all designed with the unwavering commitment to quality, making it one of the premier electronics manufacturers in the world. It was with the belief that all products developed, built and marketed by the company had to be aimed towards the customer that enabled the company to build its reputation on consumer trust.

Regardless of the type of computer owned, most HP peripherals will work with them. From monitors to printers, cameras and photographic printing equipment the developments have been designed around the business. Instead building products around a business idea, they have built a business around the products demanded by the consumers.

Whether the computer is for personal use, business use or productivity having the quality built into each aspect from the mainframe to the printer, is an important part of every decision on the brand to buy and use. The decision should be based on getting the best product available for the price, making it an investment in value and not a purchase based on price alone. Quality does not always have to carry an inflated price tag and many times a person can get the quality they demand along with the performance they need for a relatively lower cost.

Everyone has a different view as to what constitutes a value in a product and for some they believe the higher price indicates higher quality. For others, the deciding factor is the price, or what they can afford at the time. However, for most it is in finding the best possible quality in a product for the best price that is the true mark of a quality name.
