Will A Larger Monitor Screen Improve Your Graphics

Many computer users believe that a larger computer monitor will provide a better graphics image, and depending on various factors, that may be the case. However, the resolution of the monitor and the scanning method use will also play a role in how clear the graphic appears on the monitor.
The vast majority of bundled computers are sold with a .28 dot pitch monitor. Dot pitch is the measurement between the pixels on the monitor screen and is basic standard for general use. However, as graphics become more sophisticated and their use in many applications become more common, the clarity can be affected by the monitor size. When viewing a graphic image on a 15-inch monitor with a .28 dot pitch the image will be more defined than when viewed on a 21-inch, .28 dot pitch monitor.
Another factor affecting the quality of the display is the resolution of the image display. Most earlier computers offered a pixel array of 800x600, meaning there were 800 pixels in an image horizontally and 600 vertically commonly known as VGA, visible graphics array. As screen sizes change, the resolution of the display also needs to change to preserve the sharpness of the displayed image.
There currently seven different resolutions used for most monitors including an extended graphics display of 1024x768 which is typically found on 15-inch LCD monitors and 15 to 17-inch CRT monitors. A display monitor of 21-inch and larger CRT monitors typically have a resolution of 2048x1536, also known as quad extended graphics display, to preserved the integrity of the image.
A wide ultra extended graphics display has a resolution of 1920x1200 and is usually found on 22-inch and larger LCD monitors. The aspect ratio of the displayed image should also be considered when seeking clarity in a displayed graphics image. A ratio fo 4 to 3 is typical in mainstream television programming, with widescreen displays with an aspect ratio of 13 to 9 is common in many widescreen movies, as well as on many plasma display monitors.
Before running out to buy a larger monitor screen in hopes of upgrading the graphics quality, consider the types of images you will be viewing and take the other properties of the monitor into consideration. On most computers, the user can change the resolution and if the computer cannot increase the resolution, that is the number of pixels displayed horizontally and vertically, a new monitor isn’t going to change the way images can be viewed.
If you decide to buy a larger monitor for viewing graphics, you must consider not only the size, but also the dot pitch, screen resolution, the monitor’s refresh rate as well as the type of scanning the monitor uses, progressive or interlaced. They all play a part in how the image is viewed.

Look For Quality When Choosing New Computer Peripherals
From the first piece of equipment to carry the Hewlett-Packard name rolled out of their garage, the company established a goal of producing products that met strict quality control standards. If an item did not meet their expectations, it was revisited and reworked until it was made to last without problems to the end user. more

Choose Computer Monitor Based On Need And Performance
At one point during the life of your desktop computer there may be a need, or a desire, to replace the monitor with one that better meets the needs of your program’s graphics. Most computers come with a monitor, but for those who buy them separately will want to consider what type of work they will be doing before settling for a monitor bundled with the system. more
